Rhodo Festival

Taranaki Rhododendron & Garden Festival
The 10-day festival is the first garden festival to have its gardens vetted and selected by the Trust, and includes seven gardens classed as being of 'National Significance' and one of 'Regional Significance'. The festival runs from the last Friday in October through to early November.

The Festival organisers took the initiative to partner with the New Zealand Gardens Trust to choose gardens using an independent judgment process.

There are 45 gardens in total, which are located right around the Taranaki region. They range from large and formal country gardens, through to the urban garden experience. Seven of the gardens are rated by the New Zealand Gardens Trust as being of National Significance. These consist of Pukeiti, Pukekura Park, Hollard Gardens, Tikorangi (The Jury Garden), Te Popo Gardens, Ngamaku and Te Kainga Marire. Woodleigh is the garden that is listed as being of Regional Significance to Taranaki.
